Introduction to the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join our Pensions team.
This is a real platform for establishing yourself within this friendly, growing team whilst receiving support and development from the Partners and the wider firm.
Introduction to the team:
Our specialist Pensions team, described as ‘top-notch’ in the Legal 500, includes three partners, one legal director, one associate and one paralegal.
It is a successful and busy team with a thriving trustee practice and we advise a number of blue chip corporate clients on a wide range of pensions matters. Regularly working alongside city firms, the team engages in detailed, interesting work and is supported by a full-service commercial practice.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clear pension advice
- Advising both trustee and corporate clients
- Benefit change projects and de-risking exercises
- Drafting scheme documents
- Interpreting rules, trustee powers and discretions
- Scheme valuation negotiations and funding solutions
- Restructurings and winding up
- Buy-in and buy-out projects
- Pensions Litigation
What we are looking for
Essential:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Proven pensions experience
- Wide range of pension knowledge
- Experience in drafting scheme documentation
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
- Proficient in use of a legal document management systems
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility to support client development and attend networking events
Desirable:
- Commercial acumen
